Giorgio Galli. 14 Short Life Stories
- Year: 2005
- Project manager: Marisa Galbiati, Gigi Bellavita, Francesco Galli
Giorgio Galli, a political scientist and essayist, was Professor of History of Political Doctrines at the University of Milan. For many years he contributed a piece of political commentary to the news magazine "Panorama".
Through prolific and far-reaching reflection on the themes of recent Italian politics, Giorgio Galli investigated the most salient moments of the socio-political West. His research, translated into several volumes, is a major attempt to unravel the narratives between the culture of modernity and traditional cultures, searching for the matrix of Western democracies. Giorgio Galli was interviewed and filmed by second year Movie Design students. They filmed him in different contexts and situations, starting with the story of his childhood and early education; the war, then his later studies, up until his life today. The sixty students, grouped into fourteen crews, made fourteen short films, lasting about three minutes each: short stories that show the nuances of his character.
The work was made possible thanks to the support of the Movie Design Lab (Design Department, Politecnico di Milano).
